Other than for rodent control, cats are shite (and I have 3 at my house). I've had a few "ninja" cats try to frick with my Aussie Shepherd - didn't turn out well for the cats.

I did have a cat that was a runt, but she was wily. Some tom cat was f'in with her and she quietly went through the fence into the back yard where my Belgian Malinois (now deceased) was patiently waiting. Tom cat follows our cat into the back yard, dog engages and the tom cat barely escaped.
