I did similar research when I was at the same place. Some other tests had Kroil and the homebrew similarly ranked. Kroil often has a special running on their website. I think I bought one can and got SiliKroil free with free shipping.
I had already tried the Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster and CLP without success and didn't want to fool with the mixing and storage or using it around heat.

I have on stuck, sent it to Jims Firearms but no luck. Xenon, u think your tool may work? I'm pretty much stuck buying a new and hard to find barrel at this time!
