If this continues through November it will be interesting to see the impact on Miles' ability to get a top tier coaching job.

LSU is going to be playing much better defenses in November. I think LSU's offense production is going to go down based on that, but maybe we'll all be surprised now that Fournette is back and should be at full strength for the Nov. stretch.

I don't see how Miles gets a top tier coaching job at his age and history with the meddling of LSU's offense and its top flight talent hovering in the 75 to 108 ranked range. What is he going to do with 1, 2 and 3 star talent on offense? It'll be even more embarrassing for him.

Miles fan here. I was fine with him being fired last year, and agree that it absolutely had to be done when it was actually done. But, calling the man a fricktard is just wrong.

I don't understand why people can't separate Les's career.

The last 4 years have been some of the worst football I've ever seen in my life. He had a good start to his tenure, but that was 10 years ago. We have had a top 5 team talent every year, yet half the games we win we could have lost, we still have 3-4 losses, and we finish mid table in the SEC. Les noticeably changed after he threw Lee to the wolves and Lee threw a lot of ints. Then he never adjusted.

I'm sorry, I've spent a lot of money on LSU football, he got paid MILLIONS, and robbed a university. We are hurting as an economy, and because of his ineptitude and his stubbornness, he cost us MILLIONS. He refused to change, which was starting to cost LSU money in bowl revenue and tickets. He showed a complete lack of caring about the people who make up the community of Baton Rouge and LSU.

I'm so happy when he sees people in public he says Hello...because he turns around and there is public outcry that we are BEGGING for some type of change. He says frick you, I do what I want. He got what he deserved, and I'm so thankful and happy he's gone. Just sucks he basically cost us this season.

I was curious as to how it would stack up post Miles, and I know it's hard to judge based on competition level to this point with just those 3 games, but anyways if anyone was wondering.

Our rank would be 8th in the country at 536.33YPG with Ensminger calling the shots!

I saw that. It was actually the first stat that I checked. This has nothing to do with last year and everything to do with the offensive stats the first 4 games and how they've progressed since.

Exactly. Imagine their current position without these four anchors tied around their neck.

And with 9 returning starters from that offense, we were ranked 111th through 4 games...

How did we do vs Bama, Ole Miss, Arkansas. Mississippi State we dominated against, then we went so conservative they had a fg to win the game and shot themselves in the foot.

Oh, and we went to the Texas Bowl where we got 638 yards of offense. TTU was a bottom defense in the country.

Let's take that bowl game out, and tell me how we did during the regular season. I'll hangup and listen

He did NOT have top 5 recruiting classes every year. However, your point remains.

Oh no.i agree we have looked better without miles i just find it funny how last year's offensive stat were labeled meaningless when we had a productive offense and now they are touted.

Weekly Rankings:
Week 1: 257 yards against #9 in total defense @ 300 YPG
Week 2: 371 yards
Week 3: 392 yards against #55 in total defense @ 389 YPG
Week 4: 338 yards against #18 in total defense @ 328 YPG (Miles fired)
Week 5: 634 yards against #109 in total defense @ 459 YPG
Week 6: N/A
Week 7: 459 yards against #19 in total defense @ 336 YPG (Southern Miss has only played one other Power 5 team, Kentucky, and they allowed 409 yards of offense there)
Week 8: 515 yards against #107 in total defense @ 456 YPG

The level of defense we've played since Miles was fired is significantly worse that what we saw the first 4 weeks, but we're blowing up bad defenses and that is what you're supposed to do.

We'll know how much of this is real and what is fool's gold in two weeks, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

We havent played bama or arky this year.

It been proven that the 2 teams that beat us this year arent shite teams.

Both teams that beat us having a winning record and are ranked. Plus, the 3 team we have beaten are hardly powerhouses.

Let's stick with the facts. Last 3 games should and have been layups. How good LSU offense truly is will be determined in November. I hope we improve in the ranking. Time will tell and it's gonna be a helluva ride.

Even if we admit that Wiscy and Auburn would have still been stout on defense, I don't think 490 to 500 ypg would be an unreasonable assumption, just based on the improvement we saw.

And that would put us in the 20s, maybe low 30s. AND this team, with that offense every week this season means we're undefeated and ranked #2 right now.

Just food for thought (hell, as it is, we're less than a full touchdown from being undefeated, even with Les and Cam the first 4 games.)

And finished 43rd in scoring offense, which isn't terrible until you consider there were 5 other SEC teams out of a pool of 128 ahead of us.

We're actually 7th in yards per play which is pretty damn impressive. Teams like Louisville and Oklahoma lead that category.
