LSU needed a shakeup. It needed a cause. It needed a foil.

Everybody thinks this has been like the worst year in LSU football. Maybe so. Coach fired. Game canceled. Half empty stadium in third quarter. Lots of hand wringing over the state of the program.
I submit that this has been a good year, and it signals a positive change of direction. Les is gone. A beloved and inspiring presence is in his place (at least for the short term). But I think perhaps most significantly, LSU football had a unifying moment in the wake of the cancellation of the Florida game. We stood our ground. We pissed off the establishment. And LSU has a new foil in the person of Greg Sankey. I've always thought we were outsiders in our own conference. Perhaps it's time to embrace that. Every future success will be like putting a boot up the arse of the conference. I like this role. We need to nurture and develop this nasty attitude and let it shape our identity.
See y'all Saturday.

I don't think it's the worst year. It's not the best year, but if this was the direction Miles was going, then change was needed. I'm just glad the change was made sooner than later. I think in the end it'll work out for the better.

Cancer killed Mike. :(
Of everything this is the absolute worst part. Millionares losing their jobs, oh well. People complaining about piss smelling bathrooms and cold fries and Nachos, and the lack of beer sales, Oh Well. Half empty stadiums at halftime oh well, but the big guy, our heart and soul of our university lost his life from cancer in the middle of it all, and it absolutely sucks knowing LSU doesnt have Mike the Tiger

I wasn't on campus for USM, so this will be my first game without Mike. We would usually take that walk and go see if he was out, but not this Saturday.
