Do you think coach O will stay if he is not offered HC?

I love his passion, great recruiter, I think it would be a mistake to lose him

What are his alternatives in this scenario?

And is this coming off of a 7-1 interim season or a 5-3?

He's not a DC, I don't see what coaching DL anywhere else would do for him. So a HC gig at a mid major?
If that's what his wants I guess

Depends on what LSU offers him and what his other options are

I would say not...that would be some crushing shite if he turns this team around and still gets nixed.

I'm not expecting him to win out but I fully expect him to win enough to catch a few HC offers. The quality of those offers is entirely up in the air. We'll see how it all plays out.

Best case scenario.. he jumps ship, takes a job at another program somewhere in the south.. does outstanding..

and replaces our next coach when the time is right

He said he is only interested in a HC at a major program. If he does well he will be the HC at LSU and if not he will not get offers from the schools he wants so LSU should pay him well enough to keep him as a position coach and recruiting coordinator.

Nah, he'll turn over some desks and punch Alleva in the mouth.

May depend on who is hired as head coach, if he respects him and thinks he is a more accomplished coach, might be a chance. If he thinks he should be hired instead of the new coach, no way.

New coach may want a whole new staff.

Depends on how he finishes the season right? I would expect him not to be upset if the season goes south and he's not offered. Yes I would then expect him to stay with no gripes. But if he does great and ain't offered then frick no why would he?

depends on how many games he loses. 2 or less and not HC job, adios. 3 or more, i think he stays.

No. Honestly if UH loses Herman they should hire O, IMO.

If the head coach hire is Chip Kelly and all the changes Kelly has plans for are on offense and he leaves Orgeron as recruiting coordinator and Aranda as DC, then why the hell not.

We'd likely have what it takes to bulk up and consistently challenge Saban. Coach O would be a Louisiana hero for being a huge part of that.

Well, he stormed off the campus at USC when he realized he didn’t get the head-coaching job. Thus, it depends on the circumstances. If he wins out or has one or two close losses and doesn’t get the job, then he’s probably gone. If he ends up with three or more losses, then he will obviously know that he has no chance of getting the head-coaching job and hopefully will agree to stay on, that is if the new head-coach wants him to stay on.
