the #2 is the vague "institutional" label when the individual narratives unravel

That's also at the heart of the "white privilege" phenomenon. There simply wasn't enough instances of actual racism, therefore they invented the idea that EVERYTHING in western society, whether intentionally or unintentionally, is inherently biased against non-whites (but really just blacks). It's an absurd notion but seemingly getting more entrenched as time goes on.

white privilege is often "western privilege" and it's really at the heart of a lot of these movements

western culture and values has shown to be the best culture we've developed as humans on this earth (up to this point). since western culture has led to outcomes that people who want to promote other cultures do not like (what they want is for their culture to succeed even though it has had an opportunity and has failed), they attack western culture from all angles

while "white privilege" does not always mean "western culture", white males are responsible for western culture and the two concepts are ultimately intertwined. so if you want to attack western culture, you will be attacking white males.

we're at the point now where western culture has, for the most part, evolved to eliminate most of the actual structural issues of the past. so if you want to promote the fight against racism/sexism and it isn't really that prevalent, what do you do? make shite up or expand the concept so largely that it has no meaning anymore and can apply to any situation

it also happens from another angle when people want to promote a non-western culture and/or attack western culture and their preferred culture is not succeeding, what do they do? claim an x-ism and/or expand the concept so largely that it has no meaning and can apply to any situation

this is the playbook of the victim industry
