I'd say you just haven't talked to the right person. Someone would do the right thing and say yes.

Nope told me they would not fix it unless I paid for it. Told them I was done. No response except asked if I wanted to start a ticket to get it sent off at MY expense. No way. Can get it fixed locally for less than 1/2 their price. I am done with Apple.
