I'm about 40 and have continued to play basketball all of my life. I've started trying to play the sports more often recently that I played when I was younger, flag football, tennis, softball (since baseball leagues are harder to find), etc.
I feel like if you can play basketball fairly well that you can play most sports.
In the US, our best athletes play football though. I think the RB and LB positions are usually the best overall athletes. An NFL LB typically is fast, strong, and mentally intelligent to react at a moment's notice to make a tackle on some of the best athletes in the world (RBs, WRs, mobile QBs) while shedding blocks from 300+ LB O-Linemen.
