We go to about one show a year there. I've seen The Mikado, Les Mis, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Little Women and Spamalot there. I've also seen Hinder, Finger Eleven and Black Stone Cherry in concert there. It's a gorgeous theater and hosts a lot of shows every year.
The real gem of Shreveport however is the Municipal Auditorium. I'm so glad they remodeled it so that it can host big time events now.

Correct. The Municipal is a much better venue, and love the resurgence. I used to go watch boxing matches with my dad there when I was a kid in the 80's.
The Strand has such a small stage and weird setup backstage (multiple floor dressing rooms) that the arts in Shreveport never use it. The Riverview Theater (Civic Theater) has a much better setup and a bigger stage area - so that is where the Ballet and Symphony operate every year, multiple times.
The Strand is a nice landmark that should be preserved and is great for other attractions.
