The way I see it, Doc is in TM1 and sent back to old west. Marty finds TM1 in the present and uses it to go back to the West. This becomes TM2 in the west, since Doc still has TM1 with him. Marty hides TM2 in a cave. Marty goes back to 1985 at the end in TM1. Judging by the ages of Doc's kids, he's then had around 10 years where he probably went find the TM2, used the relevant parts to build a train TM, traveled around to the future and whatnot, got parts to repair TM2 back to new, and left TM2 to be the TM that Marty uses to go back to the west in the next cycle of the time travel loop.

No No No No.

If Doc digs up the time machine he buried then Marty is stuck in 1955 and part 3 never happens. If he fixes and reburies then the beginning of part 3 doesn't happen the way it did bc they had to fix the DeLorean & who knows that with an already fixed delorean if Marty ever stumbles upon docs grave? Doc wouldnt take that chance. Also with an already fixed delorean then who knows if the fuel line ever gets hit with an arrow & part 3 happens totally differently & the delorean is never on that tracks to get hit.

if you retcon the entire 3rd movie then who knows what else changed. Why bother with the damn train anyway?
