Petrino is going to get a call or an interview or both. Was told today, Petrino will be contacted and potentially interviewed. Strictly a contingency. Not the leader. A one loss Coach O would be about equal on the wish list to Petrino. The Florida game not happening was bad for O. Stock was rising rapidly. Could have peeled off 4 straight going into Bama.

Anyone but Brian Kelly.

Edit to add or Petrino. That guy will be here one day, gone the next and we will be in this same thread. Very unlikely he leaves the cupboard like Miles did when he goes.

If they're willing to look at Petrino despite that buyout, I'm encouraged. Tells me money is no object in this search and they're willing to do what it takes.

I'm surprised by this, even as a contingency plan. Didn't he ruffle some feathers of some of the higher ups and donors last time around?

Very nice to hear. Petrino could be very dangerous at LSU. He was in my top 5 earlier in the year before we fired Miles.

At this point I'm just scanning coaching changes board looking for Random LSUs threads. Seems like this guy is in the know.

Thanks for all the updates!

If Herman is not available the best option is Petrino and stop with the Jimbo talk, there is going to be complains from day one (even without the losses to Louisville and NC).
Coach O is a better option than Jimbo.

I don't think Petrino leaves UofL unless his wife gives the blessing. She loves Louisville.

I just wonder if Petrino does that mean Aranda is gone...

Not that I don't believe you, but why would he get punished for a situation that is not his fault? Herman has been my first choice but after this weekend is his stock higher? I know it's one game for each but I would think that Orgeron would get a fairer chance than that.

Petrino would be unreal at lsu. He's equal to jimbo in my mind.

Plot twist. Random LSU Hero was talking about Paul Petrino from University of Idaho!

Herman is the hot name right now and could be the next great. He's the one I hope they go after for hard

But you said . . . .

Ignore anything you hear otherwise. Both my guys say that numerous candidates would have to fall through for Petrino to even be considered.

#1 is Tom Herman
Petrino Won't be considered unless Herman and Shaw turn down.

We know that Shaw has said no, so I guess the word is out on Herman being a No? And Jimbo too?

And Briles will be interviewed at some point

Random,
In one update you mentioned that there were three names. You said Jimbo, Herman and you wouldn't name the third for fear of downvotes button being broken. Lol. Was Petrino that name? If not, I'm pretty sure after naming Petrino it's safe to mention any others.
