I wax twice a year. Do it myself in November and I pay to have it clayed and waxed when I return from 4th of July beach trip. I can hit the jeep with a hose for about 2 months after and all of the dirt/debris falls off.

Paint weathers and a wax or polish is a protectant.
I clay bar and polish twice a year and believe the polish is applied and its haze is removed easier than wax.
