I guess I can gloat because I said the first time stores started opening on Thanksgiving that it was going to be the beginning of the end for the whole Black Friday hysteria. Bad thing is, a lot of those businesses need that day to be big in order to bring profit margins up to the point where they can continue to operate. You already have behemoths like JCPenney and Sears on the ropes, this could be the nail in their coffins.
As stupid as it seems, Black Friday was kind of an event to participate in for some people that also just happened to give a good necessary jolt to the economy. It was brilliantly stupid. I cant see the downfall of it as anything positive, no matter how much I have always avoided it like the plague.
