Yes I have. Gainesville isn't on the coast. The models I have seen show it probably receiving TS type winds on Fri.

It has nothing to do with the storm itself. It's the aftermath. Logistics, damage, security resources that are needed elsewhere. It's just not feasible that soon.

For the 1000th time the issue is not the weather in Gainesville, although, as someone else pointed out, they could have sustained winds as high as 70 mph. Those can be quite damaging and knock out power on a large scale.

The issue is that the resources and manpower needed to run a game will be needed elsewhere. Gainseville is less than 70 miles from the coast --- where winds may be as high as 160 miles an hour. There will be flooding. Buildings will be demolished. People will be missing. Electricity will be out for large parts of Florida. Roads may even be torn up and impassable. Police are needed there, not at a football game.

I am not sure why people in Louisiana, who have been through hurricanes, cannot figure this out.
