FWIW Colt uses a plastic msh on some of their 1911s.
And Bapple,
I get what you are saying about the tool being a pita, but I literally used a paperclip when I couldn't find the "tool." its much easier to find a paperclip than it is a bushing tool.
All 3 of my Kimbers ran just fine, they were just to pretty for me and I don't have the time to pamper guns. Maybe later on in life, ill get a pimped 1911.
Had a Eclipse Pro, Gold Match, and Pro TLE.
Gold match was sick accurate.
