Serious candidates only (ie, not Floyd, not Huggins, not a guy who has one year of head coaching experience, and not a guy who sucked at UCLA and is sucking in DIII right now).

VCU's guy and Tubby are two. Brady Bashers, try really hard to be smart for once here. You haven't been able to fire Brady and it's been 11 years, so we all know how ineffective and unimportant you people are.

Throw some names at me.

**Thought I was on the coaching changes board originally--color scheme is the same.

There is a coaching changes board.....I'll go with Ditka. I know he coached football, but the man is a genius. Look what he did for the Saints.

UNO's Joe Pasternack.

He's turned that team around in no time. We need a hungry young coach like him.

Andy Kennedy, Anderson (UAB), Larry Eustacy (Sp??) (Southern Miss), Mike McConathy (despite how bad they are this year).

Here is my longshot:

Chad McDowell, head coach at LSUS. He was hired to restart LSUS' basketball program in 2003 (about 15 years w/o basketball). He has had his team in the final four once I believe. This year he is ranked in the top 5 in NAIA Div. I. He's a young guy from Louisiana and is familiar with recruiting the state, although not at an SEC level. I have seen him coach both at the high school and college level and he knows how to win, I would like to see him at a mid-major before coming to LSU.

I'll throw a wildcard out. Rob Evans. He might be too old?
quote:

Evans was hired as the Sun Devils head coach prior to the 1998-99 season and was fired after the 2005-06 season. Prior to coming to Arizona State, he coached at Ole Miss where, in 1997 and 1998, he led the Rebels to back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1937-38. He was named the Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year and the College Hoops Insider National Coach of the Year in 1997 as he led Ole Miss to a 20-9 record and the SEC West title.

In April 2007, Evans was hired as an assistant coach for the University of Arkansas men's basketball team by new head coach John Pelphrey.

We are L-S-U.. I say we need to go after Jimmy Tillette, no matter what the cost is.

I think Sean Miller at Xavier is a good option. He is doing a lot with that program.

So far we've got:

Tubby Smith - Can't recruit; managed to leave the cupboard bare at Kentucky without cheating.

Tim Floyd - Will knock the program up and leave.

Butch Pierre - He already is the head coach according to some know-it-alls.

Joe Pasternack - .5 years of head coaching experience.

Bill Self - Since when is this guy on the market?

Anthony Grant - Good coach. This guy beat Duke. That's pretty bad-arse. Brady could never pull that off.

Andy Kennedy - Two years of coaching experience and an NIT berth.

Rob Evans - Over the hill, no fire left.

Mike Anderson - no reason to leave Mizzou.

Tom Penders - One Elite Eight when The Simpsons was seven episodes old.

Sean Miller - Has won the A-10. Good coach.

Quin Snyder - Anybody who hasn't caught on and realized that former assistant coaches of Krzyzewski completely suck as head coaches should stop posting on this forum.

Steve Wojciechowski -

Nolan Richardson - Racist.

Mike McConathy - Maybe.

Jimmy Tillette - Though Samford coaches tend to win conference titles and go to Final Fours at LSU, I doubt this is your man.

Tom Crean - Nothing wrong with this choice.

I gotta hand it to you, Brady Bashers. In seven years, your list of head coaching candidates has proven you to be, collectively, the worst athletic director I've ever seen! Keep up the good work!
