This was going to blow up either way for LSU. If we kept les everyone would say we're complacent and les is overrated. If we fire him we get the bashing from the rest of the SEC.

The reality is anyone who follows SEC football recognizes we had to make this change. Les had chance after chance to change and refused. There's simply too much talent here to stay where we were.

the loudest fanbases on the SEC Rant bashing LSU will be those who know we are taking a risk that they are afraid or won't admit they need to.
They also know, LSU is going to get a guy they wish they could go out and get.

A&M - hot start....again, but October/November still loom. Plus, they aren't winning the SEC West with Sumlin. They know that.

Ole Miss - had to cheat to even compete. They'll never consistently compete.....it's simple geography. But, they can't do any better than Freeze, cheating or not.

Mississippi St - back to bottom dweller status now that Dak is gone. They know Mullin isn't going to get it done. But they can't do any better than Mullin.

Arky - they are mostly content with winning their yearly SuperBowl vs LSU. But they know they can't get a candidate like LSU is about to get to come to bumfrick Arkansas.

Tennessee - on cloud nine this week. But that once in a generation win over Florida doesn't mean the tide is turning or even guarantee them the SEC East this year. Much less a real chance at winning the SEC title. Butch is nothing but talk, a lot like someone we just got rid of.

Florida - has their guy. A loss this week, but it won't be long before Tennessee is their annual doormat again.

no one else's opinion really matters. they aren't even on the same playing field with LSU.
