One thing I do is tell the players straight up and then instill it on their parents...

"Practice is your time to show me what you've been working on at home"

Team practices aren't for me teaching you the fundamentals. We teach them the first week and you work on them at home. We don't have enough time out here to teach Johnny to catch a ball. If you want him to catch a ball, then throw to him at home and show us in practice how good he can catch, then well see what we can do.
