I had something similar about 2 or 3 years ago... left side, low down on the side/back. I normally don't go to the doctor but it got to where I couldn't breath without it feeling like someone was stabbing me. Dr gave me some kind of pain meds and it went away in a day or so. I still don't know wtf it was and I never had it on my right side.
