you're putting WAY too much importance on what fans say. Every team has whack-job fans that take things too far. No rational person judges an entire fan base based on these few people.

If a program is viewed negatively, 99% of it is the product on the field, the coaching staff, and, to a lesser extent, the administration. Not the fans.
