By that point they likely needed the main props to begin forward motion but I would imagine the main structural damage to the pier was the initial surge from the thrusters.

Could be a combo of both things used to get out of there. Im just wondering why or where some tugs are for assistance(looks like there might have been one at the beginning of that first video). That ship is a huge sail and is very susceptible to wind.

Check about 15 seconds into that first video. They are going pretty quick towards that dock

Just like most ships of its size, the Vista has a series of azipods, not a conventional shaft and rudder combo. The pods were probably somewhere in the 220 degree direction or so.
