Ummmmm exactly. Get the defenders farther away from the line and LF before the play starts. More room to operate

ETA: And you are also more likely running against more DBs than LBs when you spread them out.

this is correct. With more players in the box, it's just a jumble of humanity in the middle of the line where we run. It's all clogged up, even with decent blocking.

Spread the field, create space, keep the defense guessing, and let our playmakers make plays in space. Shocking.

And you've often got WRs blocking instead of TEs or FBs.

It isn't some magical formula that guarantees a successful run or something. There are trade offs that have to be made.
