You both realize you're arguing something that literally didn't happen, right?

Tiger didn't say he "expected to win." Strange asked him about his goals for the week, and Tiger said he wanted to put together four solid rounds, and a victory "would be awfully nice" too. He then said that entering tournaments trying to win should be everyone's goal.

It doesn't mean that he "expected" to win. It just means that that's what his goal was, and that's what he was trying to accomplish, which should be what everybody is trying to accomplish. I guess you could maybe argue that it was a lofty goal, like maybe a good goal would've been to make the cut or something, but it's not like he was expecting anything in that interview, nor was he coming off as cocky and brash, as Strange put it.

IMO Strange just didn't like that Tiger was confident in his game and actually thought he could come out and win his first tournament, when "other guys that have been out there for years" struggle to win just once or a few times in their careers.

God forbid if a kid has some confidence and lofty goals...frick him, right? Golf would be much better off if more people had the same ideals as 20 year old Tiger did.
