He's completely right. He shows how Colin had the right to do what he did, but also why the Sheriff believes it was a poor decision, and why it is, justifiably so, a controversial action that is offensive to many. This will not hurt Sheriff Wiley, who is one of the most professional LEOs in this country, and who is also not running for reelection.
While I don't like the venue for saying what he said, I agree with Sheriff Wiley's statements whole-heartedly.

I was under the impression that offending as many people as possible was a good thing. I guess these offended people just need a comfy safe space.
