There is not one out there working for less than $25 hour. Contrary to what you might think the wages they are paid is significant for the work they perform.

that is true
there is plenty of good work at good pay available to anyone that wants it
I promise you right now it is more about availability than economy
you find me 30 guys right now with a SSN and drivers license and they'll be working in the morning

There's another reason contractors like Hondurans. Cut corners on the work.
If the homeowner doesn't say anything the contractor pockets the extra money. If the homeowner calls shenanigans the contractor blames the language barrier.
