Even when marijuana becomes legal it will have a well-earned stigma for being a bad choice, particularly if you are paid millions a year for your athletic performance. It would be just as bad of a look for him to be filmed drinking and smoking cigarettes two weeks before the start of the season. Just because something is legal doesn't mean people won't judge you for it.

NFL players go out during the week in the reg season all the damn time...

Drinking two weeks before a game would b a bad look???

No. The stigma mostly exists in the older generations. Most people in their thirties sand younger see it for what it is. The least harmful recreational substance. It didn't even give you a hangover. You actually get more restful sleep. It's the perfect substance for an athlete, because it doesn't negatively effect physical performance the next day.
