Doesn't matter if it's legal or not.

If my employer who is paying me millions of dollars a year says I can't do it, then guess what? I don't fricking do it.

Weed whiners are the worst kinds of people.

Should it be legal? Probably. But it isn't (in most places) and is still banned by the league. Makes no sense to jeopardize your career over weed.

Yup much better having these guys get addicted to painkillers

Completely irrelevant.

If my employer tells me I can't indulge in an illegal drug, then I have two choices: Indulge and risk termination or be an adult and avoid using so I keep my job.

It has nothing to do with what SHOULD be. It has everything to do with what IS. And right now weed IS illegal and will get players suspended if they get caught indulging.

For the record, I don't care one way or the other about the legality of weed. I think the federal government should have no say and it should be left to the states to decide. But for now, smoking weed isn't worth risking a 7 figure a year job.

ETA: I also know Zeke wasn't caught smoking it (albeit it wouldn't surprise me if he was) and it wasn't illegal for him to be there. However, when you are a high profile player playing for a high profile team, I don't feel it's the smartest move to be seen in a place like that.
