Ummmmmm............

Have you been reading this board. There are idiots here who actually think we would be better off starting Guice.

He played 2 less games than Derrick Henry and 1 less game the McCaffrey last year and still only finished just shy of their totals.

The Bama game, mainly the OL, hurt him last year.

You're right. He has a chance to be better than walker this year. If he leads us to a title and breaks Herschels record then he'll go down as the greatest back in SEC history.

Not for nothing but since the bowl game stats don't count, Herschel Walker only faced 3 ranked opponents in his entire 3-year career. The only other decent SEC program during those 3 years was Alabama and he never faced them. However he did play against Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt all 3 years. Those programs had a combined SEC record of 36-71-1 from 1980-1982.

That would be more than Herschel's total of 5,259

Different eras. You can't compare Hershal to Fournette using stats. So far Hershal was better than Fournette relative to his competition. In absolute terms they're probably even. And that has nothing to do with stats. I'm using the evidence that I saw.

Huh? Leonard Fournette was handed the torch as a freshman for an offense that lost a 3,000 yard passer and two 1,000 yard receivers (9 offensive players to the NFL in total). The team struggled to go 8-5 in the toughest conference in the nation. Herschel Walker played on UGA teams that went a combined 33-3 and played against 3 ranked opponents from 1980-1982.

What's scary? Guice is just as good if not better.

Ok that's fine. Not sure you were even alive when Walker played. He was a man amount boys when he played. I am not disputing LF7 and how great he is or the competition he is playing against. Walker just made it look so easy and started as a freshman and was a monster from day one and carried the ball like 30 times Every game.

LOL....I was at LSU while Herschel played at UGA. Probably one on my favorite college players of all time. And I can tell you that the SEC wasn't the dominant conference it is today. The DB's that Herschel outran and the LB's he ran over would have a hard time seeing the field on a 2016 SEC team.

I agree with this. LF7 is going up against much better competition. Walker was still a beast in college. LF7 could end up being better though.

Guice is good but he doesn't have the body of work that fournette has! Let's see what Guice does over the next 2 years before we start saying he just as good as fournette or better.

You are comparing apples vs oranges. Fournette is much bigger running back than guice.

No doubt. Players like Herschel and Bo were way ahead of their times.

This is just absolutely false.

LF has had better YPC against better defenses.

This is key.

Sure. He hasn't been as good against better defenses.

Well. Duh. Every RB has a few unproductive games due to being well defended.

That aside though. Someone mentioned pass catching. I think this is the biggie the NFL will see. LF has shown very good hands the few times we've sent the ball his way. Frankly, i think we do that to little.

But, I think in the NFL, that dude is going to be a nightmare in the passing game.

Get LF some screens and flat routes and watch him punish DBs or simply run away from them.

Insinuating that walker is head and shoulders above LF is a denial of reality. LF's YPC (the most objectively equitable measure of RB success) has been better through two years against better defenses and better athletes in general.
