Nebraska has worked their way out of being a blue blood.

No Championships (Conference, National) since 1999 of any kind. Last (finished) Top 10 Ranking was 15 years ago. They have shown zero signs of coming back too, I dont think they ever do. Just an impossible place to recruit any sort of elite talent to this day and age.

There's 7 blue bloods, that's it (ESPN's Top 7). Some teams, like us, could work our way into it. I'd consider Penn State and Tennessee former blue bloods who worked their way out similar to Nebraska, but could work their way back in.

Nebraska’s downfall was the BCS era. They only scheduled cupcakes and won AP titles from votes of ignorant sportswriters. When put up against real competition, they faltered, and quickly became irrelevant.

agree- they’ve been down so long and in an ugly way too, they are no longer a blue blood in my opinion.
