dartman, I don't own a Ruger SR1911, but I prob will someday. Based on what I've read, evaluating it's features and from my experiences of ownaing a lot of Ruger firearms, I recommend it. If you get one, I suggest taking a real hard look at the Lightweight Commander model. For some folks, myself included, the Commander balances and points better; the alloy framed model would certainly be more conducive to cc.

Thanks so much to all you guys that took time to share some wisdom.. I've owned a Mark II for years and the SR 1911 seems like another fine Ruger product. I'm gonna go for it, now I'll start shopping...
