So I think pretty much everyone is on the same page here. 1st team defensive line, maybe, overall depth of the defensive line, no. You just don't replace 3 year starter that is 6'5 300. When we go against power running teams like Alabama and Arkansas the loss of LaCouture will hurt.

I do think he would have been passed as far as being a starter but he would have played a hell of a lot. We would have had a rotation of Valentine, LaCouture and Gilmore at the nose. Now it will be more than likely Valentine, Gilmore and Alexander. I don't think Alexander was redshirting regardless. We need all man's on deck along the defensive line this year.
