I guess this is that weird blog thing that took Grantland's place, but is it only for black people? Does anybody on earth give a shite about it? Did espn think they would?

Grantland was never going to do anything but lose money for ESPN either, and that wasn't the point.

They're hosting a very important "Town forum" on ESPN soon about racism. Hosted by Jamele Hill. Exactly the kind of stuff I want from a sports network.

I'm a big Marc Spears fan, so I at least give some of a shite about it.

You give enough of a shite to start this thread apparently. Tell the people forcing you to go to that website to stop please. Make sure you get a thank you from ESPN for the free advertising.

It's not meant to replace Grantland at all. More of a African-American perspective gathering of writers and articles.

I think ESPN got boxed into a corner of having this site come to fruition and that's part of why they killed off Grantland, so they could roll some of those financial losses into this one.

Grantland was obviously a much more worthy project, but in today's overly PC climate they probably get more bang for their buck from The Undefeated.

Happily, Simmons was able to essentially re-create Grantland but the problem is I can't take his politics right now. Who knew Bill Simmons was such a rabid leftie BTW? Hopefully I can shrug this off after November and enjoy his site - I can't take him or his echo chamber of snarky young liberals right now. I just... I just can't, mates.

I didn't even know anything about it until you, admitting you don't give a frick about it, brought it up.

Why are you so angry about it if you don't even know what it is?
