But on a serious note, the article says that the former student and former teacher now share custody of their child, and I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around that.

A. that must be super awkward between the kid and teacher, and especially the kid's parents and teacher
B. How do they explain the situation to the child when it grows up and inevitably asks?
C. Does the kid that just made $6mil make child support payments to his former teacher, or does his former teacher make payments to the kid that just made $6mil? Could be neither, but usually whoever has custody of the child more receives some sort of child support payments
