I'm 26 and when I deal with high school and college kids they also all call me sir and it's weird as frick.

But you should be happy your kid is respectful and not a dindu nuffin.

I still call my boss and people at work who I'm over and are older than me sir, ma'am.

I don't really see myself stopping either, it's just a habit

Same here, 25 and my company just hired two 22 year old graphic designers and they keep calling me sir/mister and it feels absurd.
