There are lots of WRs with great athleticism. Johnson clearly is one. A small number of these athletic freaks make it to the NFL despite their work ethic and most of them have something elite (height, speed, etc.) that Johnson does not. I doubt that Johnson will be drafted unless he gets his act together.

Think about it, every NFL team that may consider Johnson is going to ask the LSU coaches why Johnson left. Every NFL team is going to be skeptical of him.

Oh, but he'll get "production" at OSU. Lots of Oklahoma State WRs put up numbers (although the numbers looking back are not that impressive to be honest). How many have been drafted in the past four years? ZERO

ZERO.

Only one is currently on an NFL squad, an undrafted rookie currently trying to make the Falcons.

All that production over four years led to one scrappy WR currently in the league and likely to be cut in the next two weeks.

Sure, there's Dez and there's Blackmon. But those guys were physical freaks. They didn't make the NFL because of their "production." They made it because they had all of the intangibles. Johnson is a good athlete but he's average height (6-1), average weight (190), Slightly above average speed (4.55 in a "recruiting" time). And, he has a lousy work ethic and attitude.

Jarvis Landry had all of these measurables and only mustered a 4.65 forty. But the dude had heart. He had work ethic. He was coachable. And LSU turned him into a complete, pro style WR. He was drafted late second round.

Tyron Johnson may have success at Oklahoma State. That's great. Stats are wonderful. But OSU is a school that can win its conference (as shitty as it is) once every 20 years. He'll play for nothing. And unless he matures and realizes that he needs to work for his goals, he'll be out of football after 2018.
