I'm hoping it sticks. IGN also liked the game last year fwiw.

My biggest complaint about last year was how nooby the game was. I could be up 17-14 on a guy late in the game and I'll look back on the stats and wonder how he even got 14 points and see he had like 5 completions for 35 yards a piece. Too much of it was a game of chance; hit aggressive catch, odds are it's caught or it's tipped. It really killed the game for me. I have played every Madden since 03 (since I've been able to play video games) year round except for M15 (pass coverage was terrible) and M16.

I know it's not that I'm getting "older" because I can still play 2k year round. We'll see how this one holds up. I'm excited to get back into Winning and E-fights in Franchise mode

The secondary will knock a ball out of a receivers hands quick this year. Also, the receivers will drop them if you try some crazy stuff. Its pretty realistic when it comes to the passing game this year. I saw some amazing grabs down field though, but still its truly 50/50 footballs this year.

While they did give it a high score late year, you have to admit that graphics/presentation/gameplay were all much better than they had been prior to 16.

So the fact that they out out a similar review shows that EA is building on a solid foundation, and that is exciting.
