We did after Isaac. We paid 4,800 dollars for years worth premium $104,000 flood insurance. Austere came out informed me I was under insured. I told him 104,000 was what Hibernia said I had to be insured for to secure their loan. The adjuster hired an appraiser to prove his point without us knowing so he could depreciate by 10%. He called us up told us we had to accept and sign a paper agreeing to his damage accesment before releasing his report to us. AFTER SIGNING HE SAID WE HAD 54,000 IN LOSS DEPRECIATED THAT BY 10% and issued a check for 49,000 issued in ours and Hibernia name. We found out after this last year's March floods you have 90 days from date of flood to file a disputed loss of claim form if you don't agree with the FEMALE adjusters claim. We did not know this 2012. FEMALE does not settle dollar for dollars that you pay for in flood insurance. They try and settle for pennies on the dollars as to the amount of insurance you bought and actually pay for per policy.

Call your local insurance provider who underwrites your policy right away to establish claim. Call FEMALE and report claim right away as they have housing allowance programs to assist with rent of new housing while your main dwelling is being rebuilt. At least they offered this in 2012.
