We never finished in the top 5 under Arnsparger. We might have been ranked in the top 5 at some point during one of his seasons, but I'm not sure. If any, it would likely have been 1984 when we started 5-0-1 before a loss to Notre Dame. His other seasons, we had early losses that likely would have kept us from getting into the top 5. Highest finish in the final rankings was 10th, I think.

You were right, were 7 before that ND loss and ended in top 20, then reached #5 after 86 season and debacle to Nebraska; ended at #10.
As I said before, we could never quite get that elite status although were some good wins and fun at times!
