Croce was the King of the singer-songwriters.
Honestly, who could hold a candle to him? James Taylor? lol.
He had humor, wit, experience with the whole gamut of society, an eye for detail, a romantic's heart with an everyman's sensibility. And so damn prolific. Croce was to the singer-songwriter what Marty Robbins was to cowboy music. My god, what a CMT Crossroads they would have made!
