meh. it was a humongous army with over one million men that had been trained. there were supply issues, sure, but the united states military circa 1918 was a very capable one that could have easily sustained a prolonged war in europe. thats why americas entrance was such a big deal. it was the worlds most powerful nation in terms of industry and economic might becoming involved and didnt have to deal with all the issues that the germans, french, and english had to deal with after years and years of war
