There's an area not more than a half mile from my house where you can drive right up to the sand. Lots of nice catfish in that bend. You can see it looking upriver when you cross the Hale Boggs bridge.

We used to ride our four wheelers into the river there.
Real nice hard sand. Not like that down closer to the Jefferson parish line. It's all gumbo mud
