I store my boat in Venice only real difference is I have a boat shed at my camp so I don't pay a monthly fee to store it.
If you fish Venice a lot I think it's worth storing it down there. I find it saves me about 15-30 minutes a trip not having to tow the boat down there. On top of that there are so many bad bumps in the road there especially between Port sulphur and Fort Jackson it takes a toll on the truck and trailer over time. For me it's a no brainer, your only problem is finding a storage unit down there, that hasn't been easy for a while.
