one of my best friends was once the music coordinator for a huge Pentecostal church
he said they knew exactly what they were doing with timing of the music, when to go slow, when to go upbeat, etc
they studied that shite about how to work a crowd and get the emotions on where they wanted

oh yeah. for sure
when i used to go for politics my group would sometimes quiz SFP the hethen. they were like, "did you feel anything?" and i was like "no". and it blew their mind, but the whole time i was just like "ok this is where it's ramping up....and now down for the emotional connection so they pay attention...and now it's ramping up so people feel good about that connection"
i go into total autistic-robot SFP mode

They don't spend $100K on sound (and lighting) for nothing. It's entertainment, not religion.
