Hispanic Pentecostal
I know quite a few hispanic pentecostal. They are not like the pentecostals I grew up with. The women wear whatever they want including shorts, women cut their hair, they watch TV, listen to rock-n-roll, etc.
The ones I grew up with the women always wore dresses and couldn't cut their hair. They had no TV and weren't allowed to watch it.
My neighbors - the boy was my age and the girl was a year older - would come to our house to watch TV. One would stay outside and watch for the parents. They would switch off - one would watch Beaver then the other would watch the Partridge Family, etc.
They were VERY VIGILANT on the lookout for the parents. Apparently, the punishment would have been very severe.
The last time I saw the son was after we had graduated high school. Saw him at a bar downtown and he tried to sell me bag of weed. The daughter married a fairly well-to-do guy. Some friends and I wound up at their house for a party - drinks, weed, and cocaine.
The children rebelled big time against their religious upbringing.
