Lots of good info so far. Biggest thing is just easing him into it. Don't be afraid to ask for help at the tracks either. The MX community is a great one and the majority of people will go above and beyond to help. Whether it be riding skills, mechanical questions or just general questions about the sport.
Its very addicting!
