Well not really DYS. Willing to learn if it saves thousands and is worth the time. If it's going to eat up 2-3 days I'm just going to pay $2-3k

you can either do the barrel thing (that's what I have at my camp) or hire someone. Anything other than barrels will require renting equipment and will definitely take several days trying to do it yourself

Civil engineer here. If you go legit, the county has to come out and approve. Probably looking at 2-3 G's min. A 55 gallon barrel will do the same thing if you install correctly, assuming the setup you described is correct. The key is inlet and outlet elevations on the barrel, and enough fill lines to drain properly. Good luck.
