Murphy was a underrated "slash/line drive" kind of hitter. Was solid, nothing spectacular.

The Mets hitting coach, former yankee coach, cant remember his name sorry but he basically moved him 6 inches closer to the plate and attempted to hit for power. His confidence boomed last year and now he is 100% a professional hitter.

But he's always been a good hitter, contact for sure but always solid
