Not in o&g but my brother in law worked about 4-5 months in Kano. He said it was one of the worst places he's worked and he does a lot of work in true shite holes in Central Asia.

Brother did several stints in Chad in O&G. They had paramilitary security guards, so they were safe, but it's definitely unsafe

My uncle was there for 30 years. Got malaria a couple times and is now one weird motherfricker that he has retired and moved back stateside. No way he will ever adjust to living here again.

Depends on the work. If you're sitting a well or working an on/off its not bad. You can travel to take advantage of your down time. If it's day shift and you have to live there then it can be a little sketchy. Most of it depends on the company and the perks they will provide.

Where would you be working? Go for it if you're in Ibadan. Lagos is a complete shithole. Steer clear of the northern part of the country. Boko Haram has made headway into that region and they make ISIS look nice.

Buddy of mine did. Their platform was taken over and they were held hostage for a while.
