Y A Tittle is at least in this discussion. And Steve Van Buren. Difficult to compare them to the athletes of today, but they were great for their time.

absolutely, both NFL Hall of Famers...
if Jim Brown got excited about meeting Steve Van Buren, you can only imagine how good he was...
I really think you have to break this down by era...
1940's - YA and Van Buren
1950's - Cannon
1960-70s - Casanova and Bert Jones
1980s forward - Kevin Faulk, Peterson, TM7
