You can't lump Africa into one. There are 54 countries in Africa and some of those countries are actually becoming very progressive.

But as for as the who history thing and giving reparations. As for as I know, my family tree doesn't consist of any black slaves from the 1800s. The only thing I know about my family in terms of when they came on the US is on my grandpa's side, which came from Germany. Other than that, I have no idea how the others got here. Honestly, I do care if they were forced or what, but I am sure as hell they did come to the US.

If I were black and my family tree consisted of slaves, I would think, that at the time it was a horrible situation, but it did lead to a better life for future generations.
